Style Post: Uniquely Richmond

January 17, 2011 | · Comments (1)

When you think of living here in the Richmond, VA region, what comes to mind? What makes life here unique? We have a rich history, and many special attractions and events that set us apart from other places.

The Monument Avenue 10k is one of those events. Many places host 10k runs, but where can you run with 30,000 of your closest friends through such a picturesque setting of historical architecture?

Are you a baseball fan? Enjoy a minor league game at The Diamond watching our own Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Looking for a night out on the town? Walk through “Tobacco Row” on the cobblestone streets of Carytown and Shockoe Bottom and take in one of the great restaurants, or go for a stroll on the Canal Walk beside the James River.

Do you like theatrical productions?  We have great venues, like The Landmark Theater, where you can see live productions. Or, perhaps you want to take in a movie in a unique setting. Check out the Byrd Theatre.

Spend a night being pampered at Richmond’s premier 5-star, historic The Jefferson Hotel.

Do you enjoy the outdoors?  Tour the beautiful gardens of the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, spend the afternoon at Maymont Park , or Pocahontas State Park.

What are some of your favorite things about living in the Richmond region? LifeStyle Builders & Developers would love to hear from you. Share with us some of your favorite things to do in the area.

Style Post: “Wintry Mix”

January 11, 2011 | · Comments (0)

The weather outside is frightful!  Dealing with the weather this time of year can be very interesting.  Today, we are experiencing precipitation that is affectionately called a “wintry mix”.

What, exactly, does that mean?  According to Oxford Dictionary, a wintry mix is “variable precipitation consisting of rain, freezing rain, sleet, or snow”.  So, basically, you get a little bit of everything.

Certainly, when we’re talking about the weather, this is not really a good thing.  It can make for dangerous road conditions, down power lines, and a host of other problems.

But, getting a little bit of everything is not always a bad thing.  In fact, it can be a really great thing.  When you build a house with LifeStyle Builders & Developers, Inc., you can utilize our Design Studio to choose everything you want in your new home:

  • Cabinets
  • Countertops
  • Hardware
  • Plumbing Fixtures
  • Light Fixtures
  • Floor Coverings
  • Exterior Veneer Materials
  • Window Blinds
  • Railing Style
  • Interior Trim and Door Styles
  • Paint Colors
  • And MORE!

For a limited time, you can choose $20,000 worth of luxury upgrades in our Design Studio for FREE.  Visit our web site for more details, or come by and visit with us, to see how you can make your own “wintry mix” of design choices in your new home!

A Message From Santa

December 22, 2010 | · Comments (0)

Kevin wrote a blog on Monday morning. Monday afternoon, we had a plan to turn his blog into a major Christmas special production complete with snow, singing, and Santa. Two takes on Tuesday, a little editing, and by Wednesday morning the video was posted on YouTube and Facebook.

Thank goodness we are better at building houses that McNulty is at singing!

“Five stone veneers. . . ”

Merry Christmas from all of us at Lifestyle Builders!
